RTPI member recognised in King's Birthday Honour's List

The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) would like to congratulate Jennie Daly on being awarded a CBE for services to business and to the housing sector in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2024.

Jennie Daly is the Chief Executive of Taylor Wimpey and is the first woman to lead a FTSE 100 housebuilding company in the UK, having been appointed in April 2022.

She has built a successful career in the housebuilding sector, starting in the public sector in local authority planning roles before moving into the private sector.

She said: "I have a real passion for housebuilding and the social and economic benefits it brings to communities across the UK, and I am deeply honoured to have been recognised in the King’s Birthday list for services to business and the industry."

Jennie has also previously given inspiring advice to planners at an RTPI International Women's Day event.

RTPI President Lindsey Richards said: "On behalf of the RTPI I wish to congratulate Jennie on being awarded a CBE. As the first woman to lead a FTSE 100 housebuilding company in the UK, Jennie’s trajectory in the housebuilding sector is an inspiration for all women working in planning."
