The RTPI is delighted to announce the finalists for the tenth edition of the RTPI Awards for Research Excellence. The awards recognise and celebrate leading spatial planning research from RTPI accredited planning schools and RTPI members. This year we received 226 entries across the five award categories - nearly double that of 2023.
Entries were submitted for the Early Career Researcher Award, Student Award, Practitioner Research Award, the Sir Peter Hall Award for Wider Engagement and the Academic Award, which was reinstated this year.
There are 20 finalists covering a range of issues affecting the planning profession, including climate action, youth engagement, high density urbanisation and EV charging challenges.

The winners will be announced during the UK-Ireland Planning Research Conference on 2 September at the Museum of Rural Life, University of Reading.
