Lindsey Richards, President of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) has received a letter from Matthew Pennycook, Minister of State at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, recognising the crucial role planners play in unlocking the growth the country needs.
In response to this letter, the Royal Town Planning Institute's President, Lindsey Richards FRTPI, said:
"The Housing and Planning Minister's kind words are addressed to me as President of the RTPI but they are a testament to the expertise, talent and perseverance of dedicated planners working in every community across this country.
"It is an honour to see our profession's value and importance to this Government's new missions recognised in such a clear and thoughtful way.
"The workloads and welfare of planners have caused real concern in recent years and it will be vital for further reforms of our planning system to ensure that planning remains a fulfilling career path and an attractive opportunity for the next generation of place-makers."
