The Institute made the decision to pause all communications until 20 September following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Institute observed the national bank holiday on 19 September for Her State Funeral, allowing employees to pay their respects and commemorate Her reign.
As a mark of respect to Her Majesty, Chief Executive of the RTPI Victoria Hills and President Timothy David Crawshaw were joined by past presidents Ian Tant, John Acres, Jed Griffiths, Ron Tate, and Mike Hayes to lay flowers in Green Park on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Members, and the Executive.
Timothy David Crawshaw, President of the RTPI expressed his deep sadness at the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, reflecting on her life of extraordinary public service and dedication to the nation and the Commonwealth. “We will remember Her Majesty with appreciation, admiration and respect,” said Crawshaw.
Buckingham Palace announced the death of The Queen on 8 September. The longest reign of any royal in British history, Queen Elizabeth II will be remembered for Her commitment Her country and unwavering dedication to Her duty.
Wilfred Loo, immediate Past President of the Singapore Institute of Planners extend condolences to the RTPI on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. “She had served the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth with much dignity and grace, and will be well remembered,” said Loo. “Her unwavering sense of institutional duty, even up to her very last moments is truly inspirational.”
