Michael Welbank scholarship application

Checklist

1) Complete the webform – incomplete forms may result in exclusion from selection process.

2) Submit a short personal statement in no more than 500 words which should cover why you should be considered for the Michael Welbank Scholarship based on the eligibility criteria. Your submission could include reference to a specific project you've actively been engaged with either through your course-work or through previous employment/volunteering activity.

3) Deadline for applications is 17:00 on Monday 25 March 2024

Selection Process:

Candidates must meet all the eligibility criteria as indicated in the webform and submit the short, personal statement which should cover the criteria outlines above.

Incomplete webforms may result in exclusion from the selection process.

The RTPI reserves the right to apply additional selection criteria if there is a high volume of submissions.

Successful applicants will be notified by the end of April 2024.

I am enrolled on an accredited undergraduate course at a London RTPI accredited Planning School.

I am from an underrepresented group or background or have enrolled at the University via the University’s widening participation programme.

I am a UK national or have the right to work in the UK after graduation.

I am home resident in the London boroughs and have an interest in planning and sustainability in London (demonstrated in the application form).

I commit to writing on the theme of the challenges facing planning in London with particular reference to design quality which was an area of particular interest to Michael Welbank.

I am an RTPI student member.
