The long-term planning strategy adopts a plan-led approach to deliver a state-of-the art hospital and enable the remodelling of healthcare in Gwent.
The Judges said "It is clear that planning and planners have played a key role in keeping the project on track, keeping stakeholders engaged and informed, and ensuring that health and wellbeing of the community is at the heart of the development."

Maindee Triangle entered by Maindee Unlimited
Maindee Triangle is a rare green space and community facility in the heart of the Maindee, Newport. The charity has pursued a creative co-design process with the local community to transform a derelict toilet block and neglected public space into a hub for people and nature.
The Judges said: "The scheme shows that collaboration and effective engagement can have a positive impact on a local community and their integration with the built environment. Whilst small in scale the scheme seems to have made a huge positive impact locally and has created a flexible, welcoming, and usable green communal space in an urban location, as well as providing the team with a new set of skills that they are keen to share with others."
