The Guildhall complex is owned by City of York Council and is made up of Grade I, II* and II listed buildings built around a large 15th-century Guildhall. The refurbishment and remodelling provides a world class venue, supporting and nurturing the expansion of York’s vibrant creative businesses; combining events and exhibition space with state-of-the-art collaboration and co-working facilities in the heart of a historic and creative city, and securing an economically viable and sustainable future for one of its most iconic buildings. It is an exemplar of using retrofit to respond to the challenges of climate change.
Judges‘ comment: "The refurbishment of York Guildhall is a best practise example of retaining and enhancing a heritage asset whilst improving its sustainability and environmental credentials. Its approach is creative and innovative when it comes to construction management and reuse of existing build specifics."

Brainkind Neurological Centre, York entered by Jones Lang LaSalle
The Brainkind Neurological Centre provides specialist care to people with an acquired brain injury and complex needs such as cognitive, physical and emotional difficulties. The site represents the continuation of York’s 220 year history as a leader in providing appropriate and compassionate care to those with mental and physical health difficulties.
