Excellence in Planning for a Successful Economy - Winner
Humber: Hull Frontage Flood Defence Improvements submitted by Hull City Council
A tidal flood defence scheme protecting c.133,000 properties to 2040 and beyond, balancing needs of the economy, local communities, heritage assets, and international nature conservation.
The judges‘ comments:
Judges described this project as possibly the leading practice in flood defence work. The project overall has a direct positive impact for people and communities and is more than just an engineering project but outlines its role in becoming a project that contributes to Hull as a place.
