Jozie Bannister, Devonshire Homes
Jozie is an exceptional MRTPI chartered young planner with a vast array of planning related experience, both through her personal and professional endeavors. Through local government, consultancy and developer side roles, she has worked across a huge range of projects, many different districts in policy, development management and enforcement capacities. Through roles with her local young planner’s network, she’s delivered events and other voluntary work. Adept at developing great working relationships, approachable, resilient, highly skilled and knowledgeable – she is a formal and informal mentor and role model to others through projects, collaborative working, APC applications and more generally.
Jozie was highly commended in last years awards and this year the judges were again so impressed with her contribution to planning within the south west that she has become the winner of the award.
Jozie is an exemplar planner who has had a wide-ranging career including Policy and Development Management in the public sector and is now the sole planner for a housebuilder which has enabled a fully rounded appreciation of the challenges in delivering sustainable development.
Jozie has a very forward-thinking approach to problem solving and a focus on successful communication and engagement with stakeholders to reach positive planning outcomes. With a legal background Jozie has maintained contact with her former law lecturers promoting this approach into Planning for other students.

Lucy Paffett, South Gloucestershire Council
Lucy is a dedicated and determined planner who represents the values and aim of the RTPI in her professional and personal life and is a worthy recipient of this award. Through her varied career within the Planning Service at South Gloucestershire Council she has demonstrated her passion for the profession and for improving the communities that she works within. Lucy embraces change and has utilised innovative methods to improve the performance and quality of her work. She supports others in their planning careers through her Women in Planning mentor role and encourages engagement with the RTPI in her organisation.
