Living Lakes; Your Local Plan 2020-2035, adopted in May 2021, provides strategic planning policies and land allocations for the Lake District. The Plan enables decisions on planning applications to be made with a high degree of predictability and efficiency. It succeeded in delivering the brief to establish a concise and easy to understand suite of strategic policies which received high levels of public support. A creative and innovative online and in person public consultation, supported by a social media campaign, drew consultation responses from more than 2,700 people (equivalent to seven percent of the area's population) generating over 4,600 responses.
