North West winners selected for the national awards

Congratulations to the following North West Awards for Planning Excellence winners who have been chosen as finalists in the RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence national awards:

  • Civic Quarter Area Action Plan - Trafford Council - Excellence in Plan Making in Practice
  • Stockport Interchange - Stockport Council/Transport for Greater Manchester - Excellence in Planning for a Successful Economy
  • Cottam Hall - Homes England - Excellence in Planning for Communities (large schemes of 50 homes or more)
  • Redevelopment of the Former Newton Community Hospital - Stantec - Excellence in Planning for Communities (small schemes under 50 homes)

Here are the regional North West Awards for Planning Excellence winners 2024, who were announced at our Annual Dinner on 27 June at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester.

  • Best Plan - Civic Quarter Area Action Plan, submitted by Trafford Council
  • Best Project - West Cumbria Pipeline, submitted by Lake District National Park Authority / United Utilities
  • Young Planner of the Year - Ian Pennington
  • Small Consultancy of the Year - Euan Kellie Property Solutions
  • Planning Authority of the Year - Lake District National Park Authority

The North West Awards for Planning Excellence recognise and highlight the positive contribution planning professionals make in the communities we serve around the world.
