Event Description

In this webinar we will discuss the different consenting routes for delivering renewable developments through The Planning Act 2008 (National Significant Infrastructure Projects) and The Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended) (Planning permission via the Local Planning Authority (LPA))

We will explain the role of planners operating under both regimes with perspectives from both the Local Planning Authority and the Private Sector. The webinar will demonstrate how planners play an important role in the transition to net zero. Join us to understand the challenges and how to navigate proposals for renewable energy; relevant to planners working in consultancy or for a LPA.

What to expect:

  • What are considered renewables
  • Consenting processes for renewable development
  • Focus - Solar, Wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Common themes/matters/considerations across the consenting processes
  • Real world examples of schemes.
  • How planners make a difference
