Strategic Planning and Regeneration - from Landscape to Hyper Local
With the proposed return of strategic planning across borders and at a landscape scale planners will be in the spotlight as the coordinators of housing and economic growth across a much wider canvas than of recent years. This seminar explores best practice approaches to strategic planning alongside localised actions that help to deliver a fairer society and a just transition. Whilst strategic planning is an exciting renaissance the hyper local becomes important as a means of connecting communities to the new opportunities and ensuring that no one is left behind.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the seminar delegates will have:
•Gained an understanding of emerging and current legislation to facilitate strategic planning
•Found connections between landscape scale and neighbourhood scale planning
•Developed a critical awareness of the current system and where this is leaving gaps
•Learned about best practice approaches
•Seen examples of what works where in a UK context in terms of regeneration
