Event Description
This event hosted by Gloucestershire Young Planners on sustainable travel in planning will bring together industry, research and community planning experts to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and solutions for delivering sustainable development.
Discussions will cover recent and upcoming planning reforms designed to deliver sustainable development including the new NPPF, planning and infrastructure bill and devolution proposals, and the impact of the accelerated changes to the way the UK railway network is run.
Speakers will also look at the role of community engagement and research to drive strategic planning, best practice examples of sustainable communities in and around Gloucestershire, and methods to promote accessible and low carbon transport. We will also hear sound bite research findings from urban planning students that have been researching sustainable development and access issues.
The university is running a careers event for student and graduate planners in the morning, if you would like to learn more about this, we will put you in touch with the University.
