Advising on all aspects of planning is a key part of our practice, and with three planning partners and around a dozen specialist lawyers, we have one of the largest practices in the region.  The CMS planning team advises across a range of high profile development and regeneration projects and across all sectors including urban regeneration, housing, retail, mixed-use, industrial and logistics, surplus land and energy and infrastructure.

Kings Chambers has been providing excellence in planning for over 70 years.  Chambers was founded as a response to the 1947 Town and Country Planning Act by C N Glidewell, and has an unrivalled reputation for the highest standards of advice and advocacy.

The current Kings Chambers planning team consists of 25 members, 7 of whom are King's Counsel.  The team specialises in all areas of planning law including housing, energy, retain, enforcement and infrastructure.

Paul Tucker KC is the Chair of the PEBA (Planning and Environment Bar Association).

Giles Cannock KC is Head of the Planning Group and Sarah Reid KIC is Deputy Head.

The Planning and Development team at Newmark UK is a market leader with an exceptional and unparallelled track record; our experience of large, complex, development projects is second to none. The team consists of over 120 professionals across the country, from offices in London, Birmingham and Manchester, making us the largest such integrated team in our sector. 

Our team are advising on some of the most significant development proposals across the country, creating new standards for quality, placemaking and sustainability. Current instructions range from the delivery of innovative and alternative living models to high-quality and modern office space and major lab-enabled buildings, to large-scale industrial and logistics developments. 

Places Matter offers an impartial service to designers, developers and local authorities, through our online Design Review and Building for a Healthy Life assessments. We are the only fully accredited BfHL assessor in the North West of England. As part of our public good mission, we offer some free Design Reviews to eligible community and arts groups. 

Places Matter has been offering Design Review since 2007 and has reviewed nearly 1,000 schemes, with a combined value of more than £6Bn. Our services are delivered with the support of the RIBA, working alongside other professional institutes, and in partnership with the national Design Network.
