Masterclass aim
Planning reports are often lengthy, complex and use technical language. Delivering effective reports for non-planning decision-makers working under time pressure requires striking the right balance between information and clarity. This masterclass is designed for planners with report writing responsibility to improve their written communications skills for reporting.
Learning objectives
- You will practice how to structure your content for brevity, clarity, impact and how to flex your writing style for your target audience and be able to deliver different type of reports.
- Write and structure your reports to help their understanding and improve their decision-making process
- Improve your writing style using plain English when writing for non-planners and professional language when writing for planners
- Use inclusive language
- Practice with the suggested writing tools to produce higher quality reports
CPD Masterclass structure and delivery
This masterclass is delivered in two parts. You will start with the Self-guided Learning that consists of Trainer’s video presentations and exercises on the RTPI Learn platform. This flexible learning prepares you for the Live Interactive Webinar with your Trainer to address your questions and for the small group activities and discussion with your peers. The Self-guided Learning section will take approximately 4 hours to complete. The Joining Instructions and your Enrolment Key will be sent on that day the Self-guided Learning part of the masterclass is scheduled to open.

- RTPI Members have to log into their RTPI account to make the booking
- Booking for non-members can be done as a group booking by their administrators
