Join the RTPI NE Young Planners on a guided tour of the ‘Concrete Dreams’ exhibition at the Farrell Centre, Newcastle.
The exhibition explores the ways Tyneside was transformed during the 1960s and 1970s, through projects such as the Civic Centre and Central Motorway, and how these legacies could be built upon and reimagined today.
Following the guided tour, refreshments will be served with an opportunity to catch up and network with other Young Planners.
Learning outcomes
At this event you will
- hear about the history of the Civic Centre and the vast infrastructure projects like the Central Motorway.
- explore the ideals and aspirations that drove these transformations and the ways they continue to shape how we use the understand the city of today.
- discuss how can we build upon their legacies and remake Tyneside once again?
