Event Description  

Join us for the 3rd webinar in our 3 part series exploring Design in the Built Environment. Brought to you by RTPI East Midlands and RTPI West Midlands, in partnership with Design: Midlands.

This final session will focus on the innovative approach taken by South Gloucestershire Council to assess the development potential of emerging site allocations.

You should take away:

  • An insight into South Gloucestershire's approach to site allocations: aims and objectives, methodology, outcomes so far and next steps.
  • An understanding of the key design/ concept planning elements that came out of the site analysis.

 

Programme

  • 12.00 Welcome, introduction, housekeeping and subject overview by Chair. 

  • 12.00-12.15 Speaker Julie Tanner, Design Midlands will provide an overview of the design-led methodology associated with this project.

  • 12.15 - 12.30 - Speaker Dan Jones, Principal Project & Urban Design Officer will provide an insight into South Gloucestershire's approach to site allocations: aims and objectives, methodology, outcomes so far and next steps.

  • 12:30 - 12:45 - Juliet Bidgood, Architect and Urbanist. As one of the Design Review Panel Chairs for this project, Juliet will reflect upon the key design/ concept planning elements that came out of the site analysis.

  • 12.45 - 1.00 - Q&A and round up
