Event Description

Chaired by the Dorset Young Planners, join us for the 75th anniversary of World Town Planning Day, an annual global event dedicated to highlighting the vital role of planners in shaping the future of our communities.  

The webinar is part of the RTPI World Town Planning online programme. This webinar will explore how we can deliver homes differently to meet housing targets.

Learning outcomes

Through case studies we will explore and compare housing delivery examples in the UK and Internationally.

Programme & Speakers

  • Jacob Heath, Urban and Regional Planner at Niche Studio, Australia will discuss delivering housing in the wake of the new Victorian Government recently releasing their housing statement (aiming for 800,000 new homes in 10 years).

  • Sam Goss of Barefoot Architects will discuss Co-housing with specific reference to delivering the largest co-housing scheme in the UK in Bridport (Dorset).

  • Helen Walpole and Malcolm Curtis of Redtale Group  will share their experiences an affordable housing development in Portland, Dorset which was their first in partnership with a Community Land Trust.
