Aimed at LPA staff moving into the planning profession, this workshop will cover the two core areas of planning – Local Plan making and the planning application process. You’ll be brought right up to speed on the latest changes to the planning system, as well as those that are just round the corner. Workshops will allow participants the opportunity to consider the advantages and disadvantages of various spatial strategies being considered in a real life Local Plan scenario and you will also consider the merits of a planning application proposal, making a recommendation to planning committee based upon your findings.
The LPA Engage task group aims to provide low cost training that will cover some of the basic skills needed for Planning Officer's and those working in associated departments. With an ever evolving planning policy landscape and mounting local government challenges, the LPA Engage group seeks to work with Local Planning Authorities to offer tailored training, help improve working conditions and promote the perceptions of the public sector.
