Local Place Plans (LPPs) are community-led plans that propose how land should be developed and used. They provide a chance for community stakeholders to share their ideas and aspirations for the places they live, work, and spend time.

This event will provide two perspectives on preparing a Local Place Plan. Pippa Robertson, a chartered planner with Aurora Planning, is actively involved in helping her community advance a Local Place Plan for the town of Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire. Pippa will give insight as to the community experience bringing forward this style of community led plan.  Emma Storey, a Project Officer within the Planning Information and Delivery Team at Aberdeenshire Council will outline how the local planning authority has sought to support communities across the area to progress a Local Place Plan, in accordance with the requirements of the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019.

Both speakers will discuss their experience, the challenges faced and the benefits that could come from communities having their aspirations clearly outlined within a Local Place Plan.

The event will take place online.
