The President's Special Award recognises long term outstanding achievement in planning. The award is made to a planning organisation, team, office, or individual to recognise their contribution to planning achievement. The award is made at the discretion of the President and is not necessarily given every year as it recognises exceptional achievements.
2020 winners
The 2020 winners of the President’s Special Award was the BAME Planners Network and The Neurodiversity in Planning Network, in recognition of "the leading role they played in support of equality, diversity and inclusivity within the profession”. Outgoing President Sue Manns announced the award as part of her valedictory speech on 20th January 2021.
