The George Pepler International Award is a bursary granted biennially to a person in their first ten years of post-qualification experience wishing to undertake a short period of study (3-4 weeks) on a particular aspect of spatial planning. The study consists of live blog posts, images and video during the visit and a written report at completion.
The George Pepler Award will open once non-essential international travel is possible once again. Please register your interest here.
• It is open to those that are wishing to travel to either the UK or anywhere in the world that supports their study.
• The award is not confined to members or students of the RTPI and was last granted in 2018.

When was the Award established?
The George Pepler International Award, which was offered for the first time in 1973, was established to commemorate the great interest that Sir George Pepler, one of the founders of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 1914, had in encouraging younger people in the planning profession. The Award was established to "encourage young people of all nationalities who had a desire to serve their fellow human beings through the medium of town and country planning".
