Now in its 47th year, our coveted awards recognise and highlight the positive contribution planning professionals make in the communities we serve around the world.

Judging has taken place in the Nations and Regions and we are excited to announce the regional shortlist.

13 June - Yorkshire Awards Ceremony
19 June - Cymru Awards for Planning Excellence- Summer Party
20 June - East of England RTPI Awards Ceremony
21 June - West Midlands Summer Ball and Awards
24 June - Scotland Awards and Dinner
25 June - South West Summer Reception and Awards Ceremony
26 June - East Midlands Awards Ceremony
27 June - North West Annual Dinner and Awards
27 June - London Awards Ceremony
28 June - North East Annual Awards Dinner
12 July - South East Awards and Dinner
The local winners* will be put forward for the RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence national awards alongside the direct to national categories**. The national finalists will be announced on mid-October and the winners will be announced at the national awards ceremony in London at the end of November.
*All Young Planner of the Year winners from the Nations and Regions will be entered into the national shortlist and will be judged by the national judges.

The judging process
The RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence has 15 award categories, entries in the Nations and Regions are initially judged across 10 categories and awarded as:
- Best Plan
- Best Project
- Planning Authority of the Year
- Young Planner of the Year*
These winners become national finalists.
The shortlisted project entries are put through for judging in the national awards and will be judged against the others in their selected categories for the national finalist list. The remaining five direct to national categories are also judged to complete the national finalist list of 15 categories. The winners and commendations are announced at the national ceremony in November.
*All Young Planner of the Year winners will be entered into the national shortlist and will be judged by the national judges and the top five will become national finalists.
