We depend on our members to volunteer to join our committees to enable us deliver our remit whether that be domestic or international policy, through to planning our financial strategy, ensuring world class auditing, or influencing or work around education and CPD.
In return, joining an RTPI committee will give you the chance to be part of an enthusiastic team of professionals and make a real difference to the planning profession.

What's involved?
The RTPI Volunteering Charter outlines mutual expectations.
Committee members would be expected to:
- Contribute to discussions and decision making
- Be willing to participate in discussions and debate
- Provide verbal/written updates to the committee if allocated a designated task/role
- Act in the interests of the RTPI, irrespective of any commitments to other organisations or groups or any personal interests
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest and seek advice from the Governance Manager if necessary
- Adhere to relevant RTPI policies, procedures and behaviours including our Volunteer Handbook
