Solving Wales's Housing Problems – Shaping and Delivering Planning Responses

RTPI Cymru’s Spring Conference 2018 will focus on the many issues and challenges surrounding housing in Wales. Speakers will reflect on the current policy situation in Wales, the evidence and possible solutions to the issues raised.

The Conference will be chaired by RTPI Cymru Chair, Tom Watson and the programme includes (further speakers to be confirmed):

  • RTPI Perspectives on Delivering Housing - John Acres, RTPI President
  • Integrating Housing Policy - Ian Williams, Homes and Places, Welsh Government

  • National Planning Policy for Housing -Neil Hemington, Planning Directorate, Welsh Government
  • Local Planning Authority persepective and reflections on the 5 year land supply - Andy Roberts, Flintshire County Council
  • Delivering housing in rural Wales - Arfon Hughes, Rural Housing Enabler, Grwp Cynefin
  • Private sector delivery – the what and the how - Zoe Aubrey, Barrett Homes
  • The Return of Council Housing - Flintshire County Council
  • Making places - the role of design - Jen Heal, Design Commission for Wales

This event will focus on planning and housing and we welcome all practitioners involved in the housing sector. There will be opportunity for discussions with the aim of sharing good practice in housing delivery.
