Although consulting local communities has become a key aspect of the planning system, little attention has been given to tangible ways of improving the design quality of new developments through the involvement of non-professionals. This conference will include best practice case studies from each stage of the planning process and conclude with principles that can be used to enrich the quality of buildings, places and spaces.
