The RTPI East of England and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Eastern Region are proud to be jointly hosting this event in Letchworth Garden City - the spiritual home of 20th century town planning.
The programme for this one-day conference has been organised to be wide-ranging, giving professionals from all aspects of the housing industry the opportunity to learn and contribute. It is relevant for those working within planning consultancies, local authorities, house building companies, and housing associations.
This conference looks beyond the Government’s Housing White Paper "Fixing Our Broken Housing Market" and asks – what next? With the emphasis on what can be practically done in the short-term, this one-day conference looks to examine how the pieces of the house building industry can be refitted, re-engineered and put back together.
We are very pleased to have confirmed speakers from the National Housing Federation, the Home Builders Federation and NPLaw. Case studies on strategic-level urban extensions and development schemes will be presented by leading consultancies and local authorities. Prof Janice Morphet, Visiting Professor at the Bartlett School of Planning, will be leading a debate on the direct provision of housing by local authorities.
A detailed programme will be available shortly.
