Example PDPs from non-planning individuals
These examples have been put together to illustrate how a PDP can be constructed. Please note that they are not based in planning – this has been done so that you will need to carefully consider your own circumstances; do ensure that you keep your PDP in a planning context.
This PDP is from someone who is moving in to a managerial role in a new location. It includes preparing for the role and also what they expect to cover during induction and beyond.
This PDP is from someone who is setting up their own (non-planning) consultancy – it features a mix of work-based learning and self study.
How to Create a Successful PDP for People Who Think They Cannot
Members find themselves in a huge number of different scenarios - no two people, or roles, are identical, but everyone can create a successful PDP. This document gives advice for a number of situations.
The guidance documents for each route to membership, and the CPD guidance, explain what to do. This document of common pitfalls covers ways in which PDPs are unsuccessful so that you can avoid these mistakes. It should be used in conjunction with the standard guidance.
