Have you considered setting yourself up as a consultant? Whether this is an option for you part-time, full-time, temporary or permanent, the RTPI provides a range of services and information designed to support members who consider this potential career option.

If as an employee you are concerned about your immediate employment prospects then;

  • Keep a note of all the people and organisations you deal with as it may well prove an invaluable first step in generating work.
  • You will need to ensure you comply with any client protection clauses your previous employer may have put into your contract of employment.For further advice contact the RTPIs employment law helpline.
  • Advise your contacts that you will continue to offer consultancy services. It may be that they will not use them, but they may still pass your details onto their own contacts.
